Daryna’s drawing

115,00

Daria. 10 years old

Six months before the start of the full-scale invasion, Daryna’s father, Vasyl Lishchuk, was in the east, serving as a career soldier. He was fortifying Ukraine’s borders to protect his homeland and his family’s future.
On February 24, 2022, Vasyl was due to return home on leave. Daryna was looking forward to meeting her father, dreaming of hugging him and telling him about her school successes. But this did not happen. In the first moments of the full-scale invasion, Daryna’s father was mortally wounded, giving his life for his country. For Daryna, this loss was a heavy blow. But even at such a young age, she finds the strength to continue studying and dreaming, remembering her father’s feat, which is a true example of courage and devotion.

Description

There is a second front of the Russian war against Ukraine – and it is full of children who have lost their mothers and/or fathers in this terrible conflict. They are not ready to fight, they cannot call for help, and they cannot turn to The Hague for support. But we must not forget them. They are building the future of our country. We are morally obliged to help these Children of Heroes.
Thus, the Foundation’s mission is to support the orphans of war by providing them with care, warmth and security as we rebuild our country and our lives. We thank them for the contribution of their parents and will give them the strength to overcome their tragic loss. Our goal is to help these children become the best representatives of the Ukrainian nation and integrate them into the global community.
