Detailed analytical M&A report on the AgriTech sector in Ukraine
There is limited activity in the Ukrainian agri-tech market, mainly due to small grants from the Ukrainian Startup Fund.
– Over the past few years, the Ukrainian agri-tech market has seen limited investment activity, with only 17 deals totaling about $3.45 million. The largest round was Carbominer’s receipt of a USD 1.5 million EIC Accelerator Fund grant in 2024. – The majority of funding in the sector comes from grants, mostly between $25,000 and $50,000, provided by the Ukrainian Startup Fund. These grants support early-stage innovation, but highlight the lack of significant private investment in the market. – There has been only one notable strategic acquisition in the market, Silpo’s purchase of fruit and vegetable delivery service OVO, which aimed to expand its product portfolio but struggled to survive. – The agri-tech ecosystem in Ukraine remains concentrated with a small number of active startups focusing on niches such as climate technology, farm management, and precision agriculture, and trying to attract larger rounds of private investment. – Despite slow growth, U.S. investments in companies such as Kray Technologies hint at the potential for increased global involvement.
