There is a second front of the Russian war against Ukraine – and it is full of children who have lost their mothers and\/or fathers in this terrible conflict. They are not ready to fight, they cannot call for help, and they cannot turn to The Hague for support. But we must not forget them. They are building the future of our country. We are morally obliged to help these Children of Heroes. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Thus, the Foundation’s mission is to support the orphans of war by providing them with care, warmth and security as we rebuild our country and our lives.<\/strong> We thank them for the contribution of their parents and will give them the strength to overcome their tragic loss. Our goal is to help these children become the best representatives of the Ukrainian nation and integrate them into the global community.<\/p>\n

Gold. 14 years old <\/strong><\/p>\n

Zlata, 13, lives with her mother and younger brother in Lozova, Kharkiv Oblast. Her life is full of not only joy and childhood, but also a constant struggle with the disease. Zlata is a child with a disability, she has optic atrophy, which is gradually taking away her vision. Despite this, Zlata is a strong and determined girl. She studies in the 7th grade and is sincerely fond of drawing. Her world is full of bright colors and images. The girl can talk about dragons for hours, so now she is writing a whole encyclopedia about them. Unfortunately, the war has made its own adjustments to Zlata’s life. She used to undergo treatment twice a year in a Kharkiv hospital, but because of the fighting, this became impossible. Zlata’s family is going through a difficult time. Her mother is unemployed, and her father, who has been defending Ukraine at the front since 2019, died in an accident in August 2023 while on a combat mission. The investigation is currently ongoing, and the family is unable to receive any assistance from the state. Zlata understands that it is not easy for her and her family, but she tries to be a support for her mother and brother, giving them her love and support.<\/p>\n
